Brushtail - Sketches of Stars and Sea
a sonnet of Stars and Sea:
Sloshing rocks and ridges deep
Salty broth downward creep
Prevailing currents amid whale song
This vast body, time prolongs.
Oozing, the valley ridge below
Air pockets erupt through the blue abyss
Mirror flung where stars become
Sheets of wind whip where the clouds were
Violet pools burn black
ink, molten wax, gravel
Solar gusts sweep the milky dust
past a raging nebula
Fragments, unanchored
pulled to the surface
An eternal embrace;
a meeting place.
