Miraud.

Right from the first moment, Miruad nudges you toward asking “What is this? Who are they?”

The duo could be the Playschool house band, but would be in equal comfort in the dark walls of a late night dive packed to the brim with sweaty patrons bopping to their nu-jazz inspired synth pop, left-field beats, and woozy soundscapes.

Miraud are not ones to be boxed in; pushing themselves and their music has been Rule #1 of Miraud, born in 2018 as a side project sparked by two special musical minds - Josh Chan and Jack Arbuckle.

Chan’s newfound vocal talents, echoing the likes of Brian Wilson, pair like the perfect tonic with Arbuckle’s dynamism, range, and unique delivery.

Miraud’s self-titled debut album, released in 2018, turned heads and grabbed attention in Australia and overseas. The LP racked up streaming numbers, was a Local Feature on RTRFM, and was reviewed in Pilerats, Xpress Mag, and others.

The writing process of the album came quickly, bouncing tracks online to each other pretty much daily. Their collaboration blossomed and became uniquely personal, taking mixing and the artwork and design into their own hands.

On the stage, Miraud had a brief but bright bloom following the album, supporting the likes of Demon Days’ national EP tour, but the demands of other projects and life moved things to the backburner.

But now the duo are back in eclectic and evocactive style, a return sure to be welcomed by many.
