No Nomad - Handstand
No Nomad announces their new record, ‘Handstand’.
The Perth sextet’s blend of soul- and jazz-leaning instrumentals with infectious vocals, tight-knit grooves, interplaying melodies, and emotive undertones is joyfully laced throughout, capturing the band’s essence in an anticipated offering.
The album—named as a celebration of changing perspective, Handstand—features splendid vocals (from Clancy Davidson), a rhythm section deep in the pocket (Cameron Fermoyle, drums and Austen Bowker, bass), soaring saxophone (David Adams), and colourful guitar (Ryan Borrett) and keys (Drew Alexander) harmonies, glued together with a gentle old-school warmth.
Looking forward as well as back, part of the album was recorded in a makeshift cabin studio in the southern forests of Western Australia, in a collaborative DIY approach extended across the record’s production and in remixes contributed by 700 FEEL and Ben Agüero.
‘Handstand’ releases October 25 on Rockton Records, and the limited edition green vinyl LP is now available.
