027: Brushtail - Mulch

Composed and decomposed from a slew of styles and forms, the Mulch EP collects a slurry of Brushtail’s varied taste and ideas emerging from a beatmaking, nu jazz, and alternative backdrop.

All four tracks are grounded by Ryan Borrett’s guitar playing, in a familiar foray for the No Nomad member and Rockton Records label head, but stretch into more electronic patterns and production elements.

Mulch features long-time collaborator MAX BLACK on the eclectic and oddball opener ‘Stevie’, along with bandmate David Adams’ explorative saxophone. ‘Let’s Go See Our Friends’ features fellow Rockton artist asian milhouse with an extended solo skating over the track’s pacey second half.
